Collaborations are nothing new in the fashion industry but recently we have seen powerhouses hook up to bring us affordable high end fashion (think Peter Pilotto for Target and Isabel Marant for H&M) us ‘normal’ people generally can’t afford. So seeing big names come to the table makes me really excited and this year I’m most excited about one designer in particular, Alexander Wang. This New Yorker is also the creative director of Balenciaga. The collection hits the shelves November 6th, 2014 and will be available in-store but also online for those of us not fortunate enough to have an H&M in the country. This store seems to team up with only the heavy hitters for their capsule collections which include Karl Lagerfeld, Versace & Lanvin. Expect cool pieces that re-contextualise the urban uniform with great tailoring and a refined touch that reflect a sense of ease.
Another collaboration I’m really loving right now is Kate Moss for Topshop available in most stores, Nordstrom or online at Net-a-porter. It’s been four years that she’s been collaborating with the store and this range is entitled ‘hero staples’. Expect fringes to feathers to pajama-inspired pieces, there’s no shortage of glamour in this affordable range.
